Club History

 Inaugural meeting held at “Upper Pavilion” on Purbrook Heath on Thursday 25th March 1982. Chaired by Councillor Timothy Williams. The Official Club opening was by the Mayor of Havant, Clr Lubbock on Tuesday 1st June 1982.The initial fees were:- £5 joining fee and £5 annual subscription. Membership was suspended for first year at 102. November 11th 1982 the first Club AGM was held at Deverell Hall. 

 Committee meeting on 4th October 1982 rejected a suggestion that a Junior Section be formed, on the grounds that during school holidays the green could be overrun with juniors.

1983 saw a waiting list for membership of 18. Membership increased to 120.

 1985 saw the death of the serving Club President Mr Fred Barge. During that year, his widow, also a club member, donated the Fred Barge Trophy to be contested every year in his memory. 36 members contested the trophy. Ladies join an Evening League

 1986 Ladies and Men join P & D League.103 members applied to rejoin and 27 new applications were received. Annual subscriptions increased to £10. Membership increased at AGM from 120 to 130. 

1989 new pavilion built to replace portakabin supplied by HBC. 

1997 a proposal was submitted to extend the club pavilion. 

2000 permanent groundsman withdrawn by HBC

Saturday 16th June 2001 extended club pavilion officially opened by Mayor of Havant Councillor Ron Bellinger. 

2002  Short Mat section formed.

31st July to 4 August 2007 25th Anniversary celebrations included a match against a Presidents Team and an exhibition match which included Greg Harlow
